Operational statements of the VUB are the type of output of the information system which greatly influences the perception of services provided to clients at the business branches. Prior to the practical application of the POPREV project results, the distribution of operational statements had been based on physical delivery of the printed reports originating at the processing center to the different business units.

This system generated substantial delays in the delivery, and was unable to support the feedback mechanisms necessary whenever the statements had to be modified, or whenever derived statements were produced. The whole process was optimized by mapping the usage of operational statements under the project. The realization of the project POPREV also brought cost and time savings.

Technically, the project POPREV is based on the Microsoft BackOffice platform, running on the Microsoft Windows NT operating system. One of the specific features is the integration of services of the Microsoft Exchange server in the application.
